The International Museum of Women, in partnership with the World Affair’s Council of Northern California, presents Half the Sky: A Conversation with Nicholas Kristof. Don't miss this thought-provoking conversation with Nicholas D. Kristof, Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist for The New York Times and co-author of the new book, Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide, written with his wife Sheryl WuDunn. Half the Sky has been described as "a call to arms against our era's most pervasive human rights violation: the oppression of women in the developing world.” Nicholas Kristof will outline the imperative for global action on the empowerment of women, exploring the connections between economic progress and unleashing women's potential. This special program is presented in conjunction with the International Museum of Women's forthcoming online exhibition ECONOMICA: Women and the Global Economy.

Moderated by Jane Wales, President & CEO of the World Affairs Council of Northern California; Co-Founder of the Global Philanthropy Forum; Vice President, Philanthropy and Society, and Director of the Program on Philanthropy and Social Innovation at the Aspen Institute.
