Climate Change in the Developing World
Meet Mercy Corps' resident expert on climate change
July 30, 2009
Do you want to know more about climate change and its impact on the most vulnerable people around the world? Come hear from Mercy Corps' resident expert, Dr. Jim Jarvie.
Jarvie crisscrosses the globe - working with everyone from farmers in the remote reachers northern Afghanistan to maintain their scarce water resources to slum dwellers in Indonesia who are regularly displaced by floods to better their situation.
Most recently, Jarvie was in Congo, working with women refugees in the war torn nation to provide them with fuel efficient stoves, a project funded by offsets in the commercial carbon market. The Congo project and others like it are a part of Mercy Corps' climate friendly Cool Carbon initiative.
