Not so long back Kapil Sibbal had given some stern warnings to various websites including Google and Facebook to remove obscene and indecent material from their websites which had gone unheard to many websites. The government reacting further has told Delhi trail court that there is enough and sufficient evidence to proceed against 21 social networking sites .
Metropolitan Magistrate Sudesh Kumar has said in his judgement that there is enough and sufficient material to register a case under 153A, 153B and 295A of IPC. The next hearing will be on 13 of March and the court has directed that the senior officials of the accused websites should be present in court on that day. Earlier the court has issued summons on 23 December and had said that these websites are committing offense committing offenses of criminal conspiracy, sale of obscene books and sale of obscene objects to young persons.
I the allegation are found correct these websites could be blocked in India.
If these websites are banned then would it be fair to say that there is a Freedom of Speech in India???
