EU project seeks rights mulheres11/11/2011 9:50 a.m.
The European Union called for public projects that have priority to embrace the issue of inequality and promoting women's rights.
The deadline for sending the summary document of five pages, which is the first phase of the choice of projects to be funded, is the 26th of January, and proposals may be submitted in Portuguese.
The call has resources totaling 30 million euros to finance projects whose value being requested must be between 200 000 and EUR 1 million and a half euros. The European Union supports up to 80% of the total project.

Good news but...
This is good news however many women's rights organizations addressing inequalities and promoting women's rights are not in a position of providing matching funds and they tend to loose out to such opportunities. It is important for development partners to give considerations for alternatives to cash as matching fund.
