A Huge Initiative..

GUWAHATI: To create and spread awareness about women's rights issues, the Women's Studies Research Centre at Gauhati University organized a week-long course on the subject to help women in understanding the issue. The course, which commenced from October 19 ended on Tuesday. However, in spite of widespread awareness gaining ground, there has been a lot of instances involving domestic violence where women are the victims. The minimum qualification required for the course is graduation, however, from next year the department is planning to include housewives to create more awareness about the issue.
