membership strength

Never in the history of Autism South Africa have we ever charged for the thousands of brochures and newsletters that we distribute as we have pro-actively sourced corporate sponsorship to cover these costs.

This is a philipsopy we aim to continue, but it has had a backlash on Autism South Africa!

There are organisations/ societies / clubs etc that limit access of information to “Members only” and thus attract people to become members. In the case of our children and adults with autism, Autism South Africa has never taken this approach as we believe ALL people must have equal access to information.

The backlash is that whilst we have an extensive database of parents and professionals who align themselves to Autism South Africa, the varying Government Departments do not see this as a “lobbying force”; they want to know the “number of Autism South Africa’s Paid Up Members”.

Therefore we need your help as we do our best to help those with autism in South Africa!

Membership to Autism South Africa is by a donation of your choice – anything from 50c to R1 million Rand! May I ask you to pleaseconsider becoming a registered paid up member of Autism South Africa, by submitting the attached form along with a donation of your choice?

For those who have become members of Autism South Africa in 2011, or renewed their membership this year, I sincerely thank you and obvioulsy we do not expect you to re-submit your membership details.

For those whose became members in 2010, I also sincerely thank you and if you have not renewed your membership in 2011, may I ask you to please consider renewing your membership for this fiscal year?

Increasingly National and Provincial Government Departments are contacting and referring to Autism South Africa – let’s build on this improved interest in the ever-increasing number of children and adults with autism in South Africa.

I sincerely thank you for your time and consideation.

Kind regards,

Jill Stacey
