Introducing myself and my journal: Ore's Notes

About Me:
I moved from a nonprofit to the oil and gas industry. Now I'm back in the nonprofit world. I am interested in women developing themselves to their full potential and throwing off the shackles of patriarchy. My work with W.TEC involves information technology education, mentoring, career counselling and research.

I love traveling and reading.

Hi Tosin,
Thanks for the welcome. I'm happy to be here. Heard about PulseWire at last year's AWID Forum.

How did you hear about W.TEC and the camp?

Welcome to PulseWire!

Hi Ore,

Welcome to PulseWire! We are delighted to have you here in our community of visionary women. Please tell us more about your work with W.TEC, what the organization does and the nature of the camp. You might consider writing a journal entry describing the work that you do and some success stories that have come from your organization - including your own!

The best way to communicate and share your voice is to write in your journal, read the journals of fellow members and offer comments, or join a group and share in the dialogue by contributing to the group journal. You might also consider posting to ResourceExchange, a global bulletin board designed to offer access to needed resources as well as the ability to provide resources to those in need and explore and contribute to SharingSolutions, a library of working models and blueprints.

Looking forward to hearing more of your voice here on PulseWire!

Warm regards,

It is with great delight that I welcome you to Pulsewire. You are doing such important work and I applaud you for all your efforts in empowering women and youth through the use of technology. I would like to invite all the women and children you serve to join PulseWire, where they will find a diverse community from around the world making connections, sharing stories, exchanging ideas and transforming lives. If there is anything I can help you with or if you have any particular interests, please let me know and I will try to steer you in the right direction. I know that you will find this to be a positive experience.

Take a moment to browse through our group directory ( where you may find a group with similar interests to your own. Or, you may consider starting your own group where you can build a powerful network bringing together PulseWire members with similar visions who want to share ideas or actions.

Again, welcome and I know that you will find PulseWire to be engaging, inspiring and thought-provoking.

Thank you for the warm welcome. I look forward to exploring PulseWire a lot more. I first heard about PulseWire at last year's AWID Forum, but I had my hands full with a billion online activities (or so it felt like :-) ).

I will definitely browse through the group directory and check out the Resource Exchange. I think I'm going to find a lot of info and help for my work here.

Warm regards,

Helpful hint

Ore, it makes me so happy to see that you are already connecting with other members. It is not very clear but it might be helpful to know that when you reply to a comment from another member, it is best to hit the word "reply" at the bottom of their comment box. This way, they receive an email telling them that you have responded to their comment.

Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with. Best wishes,

I see what you mean. Thanks.

W.TEC blog

Hi Ore,

How wonderful that you included information about World Pulse, PulseWire and 10 Ways to Give to Women and Girls on your W.TEC blog!

We are thrilled that you are spreading this message to your network, which will hopefully spark a wave of giving to organizations and programs that support women. We hope that you continue to share the great work that W.TEC is doing in your PulseWire journal so that other members in the community can learn more about your work. Also, would you consider adding World Pulse to your blogroll?

In solidarity,

Thanks, Jade. I'll add WorldPulse to my blogroll. Things have been a bit busy so I have not had much time to blog.
