Introducing myself and my journal: Introducing myself

About Me:
this is always the most difficult thing to write: about me, myself and I. But i find that when i imagine that i can be me, myself and I,(Trinity??) that gives an idea what faith i profess. Not that I am "the almighty", but in this form, i am able to give people a snap-shot of who i am.
Me: A ghanaian woman, with two lovely kids, my son(smart, strong and full of compassion) and my daughter (cute, smart and funny)keep my world together and a constant reminder never to give up when the going gets though.
Myself: a student at the University of Illinois, moved to Oregon two years ago(can't believe it's already two years) to be with my family while my husband teaches at WOU. Thankfully,I have found a new home with the African Women Coalition here in Portland among wonderful women doing extraordinary jobs to improve women's lives.
I: am very empathetic, believe in second chances and redemption but have very little patience for hypocricy. I am highly optimistic and always see the glass(calabash) half full. You get the sense of this in my daughter's name "a zaa na nyeib" meaning, everything will be alright. I know that sometimes, life can be overwhelming and we get carried away by dailly stresses of work, family, injustice, etc but i also know that things are getting better for a lot of women and will continue to get better because we are all doing the best we can and know how.

My Passions:
Advocacy, social justice and equity

My Challenges:
Raising two kids and working on finishing a PHD

My Vision for the Future:
Equitable distribution of world resources-each according to her needs

My Areas of Expertise:
Gender relations, education policy, public speaking

It's with joy that I welcome a fellow Oregonian to PulseWire. I am so happy that you found the African Women Coalition and am sure they are providing you with much enrichment. We also have quite a few Ghanaians in our community so let me know if you would like me to connect you with them.

Please take a moment to post a photo of yourself or an image that best represents you. You can share your ideas and dreams by writing in your journal, reading other member's journals and offering comments, and joining groups to participate in the discussions. Take a moment to browse through our group directory ( where you may find a group with similar interests to your own. Or, you may consider starting your own group where you can build a powerful network bringing together PulseWire members with similar visions who want to share ideas or actions. With the group journal, you can brainstorm solutions, pose questions, test ideas and create a support network for your visions.

Again, welcome and I look forward to reading more from you.

Sounds like you have a workload on you! Hi, welcome to World Pulse! I hope you feel comfortable here, and perhaps find sometime in between gaining you PHD (congrats on that, by the way, for the course of PHD) to post any of you thoughts and comments on Pulse Wire. See you around!
