For sparing our lives
Life, like a passing shadow
Breath like a stream
Can neither be held nor touched
But since knowing you
Since loving you
Ever since I began trusting you
Breath pile upon breath
Shadow upon shadows
All not enough to say how I love you
Yes! How I do
In my deepest
When all is asleep and quiet
I, lying awake with thoughts
Cherishing moments in your midst
Replaying episodes of those acts
Reliving periods spent together
Smilingly seizing every opportunity
To say thanks to the giver of life
He spares you all for me, I for you too
And giving us a time, this time
This breath and this love
