China and Trafficking

A statement released by the US State Department draws attention to the issue of human trafficking in China, both within and across borders. Children, women and men have all been trafficked for the purposes of labor, as well as sexual exploitation and abuse. Many women have been trafficked from border countries, most notably DPRK (North Korea); internal trafficking is also a recognized problem, and various NGOs and international organizations have worked to shut down brothels, hotels, karaoke bars and other areas where this has been a known problem. It's great to see your voice

It's great to see your voice in the community! Thank you so much for taking the time to start your journal. I'm excited to see what can develop and to hear more about your organization and the work you're doing.

I'm also curious to know more about the organizations out there that are working to shut down trafficking sites. Do you have any recommendations about what I, and other users, can do to help these efforts?

Hi Alicia, just wanted to get to know your fund a bit more and ask some questions that I think some of our community members may have (including me). My first question is-- is the Fund for Women in Asia a fund of funds or do you and your board give grants directly to the community based organizations/NGOs. Also do you all ever grant directly to an individual.

Thank you for joining our community, btw!!
