Polygamy, a treasure?

I am just sad and concerned about one Kenya's Former MP Hon. Raphael wanjala. I differ a lot with his definition of a 'true African son of the soil'. According to him, a true man should have several wives surrounding him, women he can get whenever he wants. He even uses US President Obama's father as a real respected man because he had many wives. He was defending his tainted public image about an affair he has with someone else's wife.
"Kenyatta had five wives. The father of US president Barack Obama had several wives. I can marry as many wives as I want," this was part of his speech.

But does he know that those polygamous people that he crowns lived in another century totally different from what we have today? Hey, guys, do you share the same sentiments of turning women in to 'objects'?

I am sad... very sad.

No I don't

I don't think woman should be ever treated as objects, ever. They are their own persons, and should only chose a hubby if they wish him to be so. Sigh. How about we ask him to flip the tables in his mind to where a woman can have more than one husband, in a domestic capacity or whatnot, and have him figure what he feels about this arrangement. If he says "no way", I guess he just realized how woman feel in this is 'alright' for them to be his own little herd.
I like how you pointed out that all of this, the people he mentioned, had lived all in another time. You have a good head on you. I feel you should do very well on letting other people know what you feel about this matter.

I concur

Thanks for sharing out. I concur with you on how men will feel if women did the same, that is, having several husbands. Perhaps it is time we challenged them since we are equal partners. They should not let their selfish interests justify a case that was only acceptable in the past. Women, i think it is time we rose up and stopped this..
