Women Have Souls, Infact Unique

Tags:

I came across a study recently by Aseigbu(1987) which revealed that at a point in history women were worshiped as goddesses, because of their capacity to bear children. Much later, with the advent of religions and the story of Adam and Eve,the regards for women changed. People began to see women as the cause of evil to mankind. They decided to look over the weakness of Adam who neglected his wife to be tempted by satan. Women then began to be seen as weaker and inferior sex.
At a point people doubted whether women had souls. In the 15th century, a meeting was held by men to decide whether women had soul. They finally decided that women had a second class type of soul. In 1787, Richard Whately defined women as:-"Creatures that cannot reason and poke fire from the top".
These trends of thought was inculcated into the heart of male children so that they don't see anything good in their female counterpart and into the heart of female children so that they don't see anything good in themselves. Even when they are able to see those good, they feel there is nothing they could do about it and so they resigned to faith and the fact that their only place is with their husbands and to rear children.
Even in the 21st century this evil notion is still staring us in the face. This is why in some society giving birth to a baby girl is like a sort of misfortune and badluck. This is also why there was a serious setback in the education of women all over the world because people see it as a waste.
Women our DESTINY lies in our hands, we must work together to correct this evil notion. Women all over the world who are still ignorant should be educated. Many countries are already represented in the PulseWire community. We should go back to the nooks and crannies of our countries to educate others that whatever men can do women can also do them even better and that whether the world likes it or not God created WOMEN with souls and good brains as men. Open their eyes to see the potentials and resouces God has deposited in them and the reasons to tap those resources
Those who need encouragement, lets encourage them
Those who need rebuke, lets rebuke and correct them in love.
Those who need help lets lend a helping hand
Together we will empower ourselves
Together we will reach our goals

Woman United

I think it is why the Goddess was suppressed and turned into some sort of evil sorceress image so woman would have no one to turn to for help. In the Christian religion she has been relegated to being just the mom of Jesus but in all the pictures it is she who sits on the throne with the baby on her lap. I guess they fear going too far against the Truth so compromise.

I think an interesting (not necessarily good) book/movie about this is called Mists of Avalon that tries to portray Goddess worship in context to men wanting to rule everything themselves. When men want to rule not only themselves but everyone else they must first destroy the Goddess image/idea in people's hearts and minds since she is sort of the Mother of all Earth and cares for each group. But too many of these types of books are written by Christian woman who turn back to that religion for whatever reasons. Maybe it is the idea of the ultimate responsibility getting past on to someone else to pay for your sins, I am not sure. I seriously doubt that all of your bad deeds and thoughts will outweigh ones good thoughts and deeds.

But I think it does tie in with woman being suppressed and why there are so many negative images of the Goddess around. I think even Christians who do not worship her would think of her as a friendly type, someone you could go to when in serious trouble. It is partly why I would like us to go back to a "prehistoric worldview" before men who craved power for themselves began writing about other peoples without regard to the truth.

But I love your thing:

Those who need encouragement, lets encourage them
Those who need rebuke, lets rebuke and correct them in love.
Those who need help lets lend a helping hand
Together we will empower ourselves
Together we will reach our goals

Together says it all!

I'm sure...

I'm sure you must have seen the list now.
I couldn't make it, and knew about it since my computer breakdown hindering me from submitting the 1st assignment. With the competitive nature i guess that alone put me off.

Howvever i was only introduced to VOF when i joined but my enthusiasm in joining the community was the whole idea of having this freedom of expression and reading about others experiences from a global perspective, which i'm quite comfortable with.
With my present situation i wouldn't have been able to follow the program even if i won.

We are together,
Stay Blessed
