World Pulse to capture unheard voices in Kashmir
Indian administered Kashmir, April 14:
There is no denial in the fact that life is a precious gift bestowed by Almighty to every individual and it is to be lived once. But sometimes people under stress and anxiety fail to live a life to its fullest.
Often we fail to understand, “Life is really very simple. What we give out, we get back. Each moment is ever new and fresh”
For me life is an opportunity and it favours those who are brave, dedicated, honest and committed. No goal is unachievable if you are sincere and focused. Even the word “impossible” says “I am possible”.
Life is full of ups and downs. We forget that smooth roads never make good drivers, smooth sea never makes good sailors, clear sky never make good pilots. Problem free life never makes a strong and good person.
Making life beautiful and lovable despite hardships and challenges is not an easy task but it is all possible once a person knows how to utilize the talent (s)he possess, in right direction. Simply knowing thy self is important.
I firmly believe that no person in untalented. No two persons are alike and every person has a role in society and is important. Most important is that when we really love ourselves, everything in our life works.
The moment people realize their capacities and capabilities their work is half-done. People from different walks of life act as different wheels of a vehicle. If all the wheels are in proper condition only then the vehicle can smoothly ply on the road otherwise it would collapse.
This explains the role of community/society. An individual is essential part of any society and the individuals put together form a society/community. An individual has certain rights and responsibilities towards community. But most often in a society like ours people forget their responsibilities towards society.
The problem becomes grave in a conflict situation when society turns bit indifferent towards women-folk. It is here where role of certain professionals becomes important including journalists.
Since I belong to one of the conflict areas of world, my responsibility as a correspondent, towards the society would be manifold. Highlighting issues concerning female-folk and at the same time it would be sensitizing the society about the issues that they usually consider of secondary importance.
Reporting from the conflict areas is always challenging. Usually various voices of women go unheard and are crushed. Giving voice to voiceless in any society particularly in conflict zone is crucial as well as vital.
The job becomes all the more important when it comes to highlighting problems faced by the fairer sex. Apart from domestic violence and violence faced by women at work places, women here face problems associated with conflict like rape, facing brunt of situation in the form of being widows and half-widows (women whose husband are missing over the years and nothing is known about them so far), various social, educational, political problems that remain unreported from conflict areas.
I intend to highlight such issues so that their voices don’t go unheard. I would like to utilize space provided by the World Pulse Team to highlight these problems at the international level, seeing the conflict and related problems through their eyes and looking at various options that they believe are available in mitigating the problem or trying to find a solution to the issue.
Since I believe that women form half of the population and they have every right to get not only their voice registered but seeking solution to the issue that confronts them the most. What better option than World Pulse would I get to make unnoticed things matter the most?
I personally believe that every moment of life is a new beginning point. World Pulse can help to provide a platform to inform, educate, sensitize international community, policy makers and the concerned quarters that can not only help to find out a way to look into their grievances but a way ahead on the path of progress, prosperity, development and empowerment.
