"VOF Week 3: (Overcomming Challenges in Blogging)."
Overcoming Challenges in Blogging….
Internet plays a greater role in bridging people together, from all walks of life and from every corner of the globe. It bridges people together in a variety of ways especially through common interests and sharing of knowledge and skills. Most common in the internet is the rising number of blogs. These blogs which are easy to maintain, with few technical skills, provide ample opportunity for people to interact in a meaningful and personal sense.
The challenges and barriers to blogging is that at times we have so much to write and look forward to do so, share information with others etc, but due to time constraints we tend not to update the blog, thereby losing the initially intended momentum, hence lose valuable contacts. I consider continuity is of utmost importance. Finding ways to energize and entertain the group is equally important. Maintaining a blog means that we have to commit ourselves, thereby facilitate the process, stimulate discussion and constantly build in mechanisms to keep people awake – humour is the best tool accompanied through stimulating discussions! Just to start a blog and leave it to itself may not work. Constant enthusiasm and humor needs to be generated to keep the blog constantly updated and relevant.
Other challenges are the question of security. How much could we have trust the other? If we have new members can we trust the person? Will our information be manipulated or misused? Difficulty in scrutinizing people could lead to at times in the break up of networks of closely knitted groups. Hence at the initiating stage of blogs its always better to provide the least of information relating to names and places of work. But in turn, closing up can make people lose confident on the other. So balancing and working with caution is important. Personally I go by intuition….who else could be considered the best when it comes to intuition? A women itself!
