- Pourcentage des chômeurs à long durées.

SOME INDICATORS AND POVERTY INDEX

ARMAHATA SEN produced a document about the work on poverty mechanisms and on issues related to economic developments. He inspired many international institutions such as the UNDP in 1990 to publish an annual report on human development that incorporated the substance of a new analysis tool for development.
The HDI is a composite indicator, that is to say it merges the GDP/h, the life expectancy at birth and the level of education (school enrollment and adult literacy rates which vary from 0 to 1 and also indicate development.
However, 5 years after 1995, talks about gender-specific indicator of human development started. This indicator integrates the fear of inequalities between men and women in the HDI.

This index is presented in two ways:
- HPI-1 and
- HPI-2 and we have 5 criteria:
- Probability of dying before 40 years (P.E.V.)
- Illiteracy
- Percentage of individuals without clean drinking water
- Percentage of individuals with no access to health care services
- Percentage of children under 5 suffering from ponderal insufficiency.
The HPI for developed countries has 4 criteria:
- Probability of dying before 60 years
- illiteracy
- Ratio of people under the poverty line
- Percentage of unemployed for a long period
Corrado Gini index (1884-1965)
The value for this index is between 0 and 100. Zero refer to a situation of absolute equality while 100 indicates a situation of extreme equality. The more G is close to 1 the more the concentration is high, strong or significant.
One can refer to his book for statistical methodology, concentration and variability, Corrado Gini.

Educatif

Chere Ariane,
