Google Maps
Hi everyone,
I attended a web 2.0 developers gathering over the weekend and had the opportunity to show the Beta to a developer/product strategy consultant.
A couple of comments.
He felt the ResourcesExChange area was a bit content heavy and would become unmanageable to search or scan as it scaled.
He also suggested utilizing Google Maps as a way to depict info visually. Perhaps we could map projects/activists geographically. So people could click on countries/regions of interest. Maps could also be used to depict/navigate to topical areas and subareas.
If there's interest, I can find out how to access the Google API for development.
Also, I am happy to arrange a con call with this guy to brainstorm other ideas. Just let me know.

Google Map
Hi Genice,
Thanks for introducing our site to web 2.0 developers. I'd love to be able to talk to you in more detail about their comments, particularly the Resource ExChange comments. A conference call may be a good way to exchange ideas.
With regard to Google Maps, we are evaluating the site now with comments from our users who have slow connections. Adding more graphical content may be detrimental to their experience; we are looking into this area more. It's quite a balancing act.
cheers, /ns
