Merci beaucoup!

DIGITAL EMPOWERMENT/ Women weave the web campaign

I am an ambassador of the Mama Shujaa center in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, what I can say about the internet for women in my country and in my community; the internet was truly an extraordinary thing for women of my community and it is something rare for women to frequent the internet because the internet in my country is very expensive and it was just recently that men were the only ones using it.

Gradually as the world evolves, the woman now finds her place in the community because she was considered to be neglected in society, and seeing that technology evolves day by day and also with the emancipation of women, women in my community already understand that women all around the world are the same and have the same problems and that together, they can find an effective solution to their sociological problems without submitting to men because one says, “unity makes strength”.
For myself, I did not know how to handle the first computer system including the internet, I went to the training center and I was there for a year, and then I had left the center with quality training. After the Mama Shujaa center was born, there I served as a trainer and facilitator and today I have become an ambassador in the same center, Mama Shujaa. I was very happy to see that this initiative promotes more women to have computer skills and this opens them up to the world, now they already use skills among the internet and connect with other women around the world.
I am a technician in community development and an advocate of education, as part of helping people to transform themselves and these social problems without government support and to have children to gain access to school, I show them that they can self-finance in order to resolve social problems that are waiting outside help, that the area in which I work and that is my innovation for the people of my community. Thank you very much!

Merci!

Cher Anuarite,

solidairement,

McKinley
