I’m ebony
‘Cause I’m dark in complexion
For their colour many undergo agony
Due to human disposition

Many bias practice racism
This wouldn’t curb my enthusiasm
As such, I maintain my dynamism
In any era of criticism

I’m black and proud
Sure can mingle in any crowd
My colour is not a defect
Therefore shouldn’t have an effect

Although regarded with contempt
Their actions don’t hinder my attempt
To proof my abilities
And parade my potentialities

I can’t be intimidated
By any race or colour
My pride can’t be eradicated
For I uphold my valour

My colour isn’t a deficiency
Neither does it limit my aptitude
I refuse to be debased
I’m confident of my solid base

Your poetry

Dear Enie,
I've been reading your posts and I just want to tell you that you have a consistent rhythm and music in your poems. I am having difficulty in writing poems, or writing in general, but reading you inspires me so much. Thank you for sharing your talent, your voice, your culture with us. You are truly blessed and we're lucky your blessings are shared with us.

keep writing!

Poverty is man-made that we can undo.

Comments Appreciated

Dear Katea,

I really appreciate your kind words and equally find satisfaction in knowing that my writings inspire someone for that is expected from being a writer, all i aways say is that i give God the Glory for the inspiration and knowledge comes from Him.
I also got to know from your profile that, we are both from the zodiac sign Libra - i am Oct, 5th. Even so, i became aware Mohammed Ghandi is also from the Scale sign- thanks. i admired his wisdom and simplicity.
The virtues of our Zodiac sign you enumerated was quite apt.

Best wishes and Cheers

You remind me of Blake who in his art (writing and painting) thought of God. In one of his poems, it reads:

"Thus did my mother say, and kissed me;
And thus I say to little English boy:
When I from black and he from white cloud free,
And round the tent of God like lambs we joy,"

blessed be,

Poverty is man-made that we can undo.

Yes, He is my all and all and i know i'm nothing without Him so i never seize to acknowledge His Goodness, Mercy and Compassion in my life for i've surrender my all to Him. So is my strength.

I wish you God's Speed
