THE word count!

The word count for the VOF week 1 & 2 assignments have been 500 words or less. But i notice that many assignments posted are double or sometimes three times as many words. How important is it to stick to the 500 or less word count? Do you disregard assignments that go way over this number?

It some times seem difficult to tell our stories in such a short essay.But I understand our readers have many essayss to read so I do try my best to be within the word count.I wish you the best as you try to stay within this limit.

Hi! I understand that it's difficult to tell stories in limited words just I experience it my self. Though, having a long story with more than 500 words is already a struggle for most readers to stay in tune. What is important is we learn to share our stories in limited words at the same time have readers who appreciate and hear our voices.

thanks for the information. in fact I was conscious of the word count. However, I have been carried away by the story i was writing that I forget about the count. this is an indication of the richness of untold stories in us that we want to share with others whom we feel very confident with.

then.... I forgot where to click to check the word count. funny?? we are learning here too... educating ourselves to follow instructions without losing the essence of what we are writing about.
