How To Break free from the chains of low self - esteem

with teenage moms in Zimbabwe after an empowerment workshop on self - esteem building.

1 of 15)(a) Self - love

I can't emphasize enough about love for one's self. It is the number one key to having a healthy and stronger self - esteem.
A lot of times we try to fit in the status quo sometimes due to societal pressure, the media or family members and friends. Do this little exercise me with.Yes with me because I do it every day. Go right now and stand in front of a mirror. Take a hard look at yourself from head to toe, front and back.
What do you see?
Ok look outside,or if possible go out and take a walk among people. Take a look at the people around you.
What do you see?
So why did I asked you to look at yourself and others? To find out if there's anyone out there EXACTLY like you.My people, even identical twins still have major differences. There's no one on the face of the earth like you.Meaning when God created you, He created a very unique and special masterpiece. You've just got to love Yourself. Yes embrace even your imperfections joyfully, completely and with much pride. No child of God is perfect.Even thousands of surgeries wouldn't do the job. That will only continue to alter the real you. when you are in love with yourself, the whole world follows because your love becomes a reflection . Acknowledge that you are special – because there's no one else quite like you.Not only are your fingerprints and DNA different from everyone else's (unless you have an identical twin), but your mind, and how it thinks and operates, is totally your own. This means that out of almost 7 billion people in the world, you are a one-of -a-kind.So if nature has bothered to make you unique, don't you feel you should accept that you're important?
Be an original of you than an imitation of another.
Don't fit in.You were made to stand out.

You are unique

I really enjoyed this post. It does a good job of reminding all of us that we were created uniquely and we should embrace that. One thing I have started doing when I catch myself putting me down, is to ask if I was talking to a friend or family member would I be this harsh on them? The answer is almost always "no". We need to learn to treat ourselves as well as we treat others.

You're simply the best

Hello there Kristina.
I just love your comment and appreciate you so much for stopping by and sowing beautifully into me. Yes we MUST take care and love ourselves first then we can be able to share with others. And I especially like your attitude. Keep saying NO to all the negatives and make sure to treat yourself as if you are the best thing that ever happened to you.
Thanks again and much hugs to you.
Stay blessed,
Yours truly,
