Hi Teresa, Your commitment to

Hi Teresa,

Your commitment to a better and more just world is inspiring. I most liked your sentence about, "If you help a women you are helping the whole family". I see that your work and desire to create a better life for your community is a direct representation of this idea. I am grateful for VOF, to be able to read your story and also hear of the things needed in your community, such as the wind-driven electric generator, that would create a better life for so many. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, I hope World Pulse helps you share your experiences and gain support around the world.

Cheers,
Megan

My Commitment to a better World

Hi Megan,

Thanks a lot for your comment. By commenting you are motivating my commitment to the poor Community. Imagine most of them never went to Nursery. They don't know about Computers and the Internet connection. You have to explain to them how it works. Now that i have that knowledge and i live with them and that opportunity has risen of WorldPulse VOF. I would love to see their life change for the better. At least to have something to do for themselves and their children.

May GOD bless you and WorldPulse team

Thanks for your Cooperation.

Teresa

Hi Mega,

Am grateful you have responded to my Journal. The Community in our day to day life you i would like to see their life changed and those of their children. Majority never went to school and those who went don't know how to operate a Computer co' they can't afford College fees where they can learn how to operate. Majority of our Youth (our children) after the parents strain to see them through to Secondary School they lack University, College fees to further their education. most of their Youth they are idle and so they end up ganging up and end up taking drugs, commercial sex ending up getting HIV/Aids others opt to stealing and the are shot by police so they are dying young.

The parents are left helpless cos' they tried their best in educating their children. They see life has no meaning and they are depressed and also dying before they look after the other Children,

I have faith and Hope that the WorldPulse VOF will come to the aid of our poor Community

Megan, once again thanks for your Cooperation. Nay GOD bless you and The WorldPulse VOF

So nice to hear from you

Teresa,

It's really quite amazing to hear from you in Kenya, so far away, while I am right here in my home in Portland, Oregon. With enthusiasm and a pulsing heart, you embody the life of service. I would like to see the photos that you are describing.
I saw the photos of your group in your Week 4 VOF entry- thank you for posting those.

What is a private Cybercafe? Are there public cafes? I'd like to know what the place is like where you write.
When you get the chance, tell me more about the wind-driven electric generator.

Your work and attitude are inspiring.

Take care
Laura

WHAT IS A PRIVATE CYBERCAFE?

Dear Madam LauraB,
Dear Madam LauraB,

How nice and wonderful to hear from you again? hope you are ok at Portland House, Oregon. Am ok here in Kenya.
A Private CYBERCAFE is ones' business premises where one has kept COMPUTERS and they are INTERNET CONNECTED so the Public who does not have a Computer and Internet Connection go to the CYBERCAFE to browse, print, type at a fee depending on how long you take to do all that scanning a photo and sending is most expensive.

So you end up spending almost Kshs. 200/= in one hour.

Please, how do i send the our photos do i use Email, reply on the mail. because below there is no photo sending

Once again thanks alot and may GOD bless you abundantly.

See you online

A PRIVATE CYBERCAFE

Dear LauraB

Hi, am sorry i replied about Private Cybercafe and Jade has emailed me today and has informed me that it went to the one address you were using before on PulseWire.

I also defined about the WIND DRIVEN GENERATOR on another email and i havent received your reply. If this other one you did not receive and may be it went astray (to theWORLD PULSE TEAM as JADE FRANK has informed me then I would be very disappointed.

Can the WORLD PULSE TEAM forward to your email Please. I spent alot of money on the Private Cybercafe on both typing and emailing.

I'm not sure what happened

Teresa,
How frustrating for you to spend all that money and time and get no reply from me. I did not get your email and don't know what happened. I'm very sorry about that. I will be in the World Pulse office later this week and talk to them about this.

I appreciate you keeping in touch and taking your time. I hope that being a member on World Pulse has mostly been a positive and valuable experience and not disappointing.

Take great care of yourself and hope this finds you doing well.

Warmly,

Laura

Connections

Teresa, your words are an inspiration. I encourage you to reach out to other members, or start a dialogue by commenting on another journal entry. We have many members from Kenya so you will find a lot of support from your African sisters.

Also, I am so happy that you joined our Voices of Our Future group and were able to bring attention to the situation in your community.

Take a moment to look at two other amazing groups which I think you might be interested in joining. Leah's wonderful group, "Jambo, Hello from Kenya!" has brought together women from all over who brainstorm solutions, pose questions, test ideas and support each other's visions. It can be found at http://www.worldpulse.com/pulsewire/groups/1474.

The other group is the Rafiki Club, managed by mamaAfrica, which brings women together to promote literacy in rural Kenya. It can be found at http://www.worldpulse.com/pulsewire/groups/6627. MamaAfrica runs a number of different programs and may be a source of information and feedback on your development plans.

You might also like to connect with Genice Jacobs who is currently working with The Cooper Union in New York on a solar lighting project for Uganda Space. She may have some ideas on how you can further your plans for the wind-driven generator. She can be found at:
http://worldpulse.com/user/102

Please do not hesitate to reach out to these amazing sisters whose lights shine so brightly on PulseWire. Bahati njema with all your efforts and we look forward to hearing from you again soon.

CONNECTIONS ADVISE

May GOD bless you.

see you online

Dear Madam LauraB,

The WIND DRIVEN ELECTRIC GENERATOR is featured by novel design, unique technique and strong practically. It is used in the Areas with wind and without Electricity. It uses the wind Force as the motive power to revolve a permanent magnet generator at low speed to generate alternate current which is converted to direct current through constant Voltage rectifier under control and stored in the Battery.

The Wind driven Generator is used at Home in the Wind Energy- Electric energy conversion efficiency method such as the places where the Community lives the Island, lighting of expressway ect. lighting for square, park, the place of urban landscape point, scenery resorts, lighting for highway also microwave Communication telephone transmitting tower, forest observation tower maintenance station of oil delivery pipeline, desert Island, plain, beach etc.

Madam, LauraB my point is this as i had requested earlier, The Wind Driven Electricity Generator if bought for them, then could benefit the most poor of the poor in the slums Rural and Urban poor who do not have electricity and cannot afford World wide without cost (thus they are not paying for wind) In our Community majority of them use Kerosine (paraffin) in our Country of late it is so expensive. Majority of them are jobless, they rarely get their daily basic needs.i.e food. Of they at least get such a Machine the cost of living would be a bit better for them cos the machine would help in lighting even at night in their homes.

Majority of them have an Urgent need they are about to be evicted in the slums where they were allocated as squatters by the Government (CITY COUNCIL0) because they have not paid LANDRATES for years because of lack of money. It is not much if a well wisher could frontier and pay for them.

NB: About the photos i dont know how to send photos before i could send but now am only seeing submit and preview. where do i send please advise.

GOD bless you

See you online

In response

Teresa,

If you post a new journal entry I think you should be able to post photos- hmm, let me try doing it myself this week and see what I come up with. I will write you back later in the week, Okay?

I am so interested to hear about the Wind Driven Generator and how much you know about it. I'm a little confused myself about why I didn't get an email notification in my email account and need to find out more.

You are doing so much for your community. I hope you are finding other organizations that you can partner with and that World Pulse is valuable in that way. That is one of the powerful things about this organization. I see that Janice referred you to people that might be helpful.

Best to you and thank you for explaining your project.

Laura
