Introducing myself and my journal: The Global Sunrise Project

About Me:
I'm a 10th grader who attends a Toronto high school. I've been very involved with Free the Children’s “Me to We” movement for the past 8 years and attend leadership training each summer with various organizations & have actively participated in several youth summits. In March, 2013 I was selected as a youth delegate by the Canadian Voice of Women for Peace to attend the United Nations for the 57th annual session on the Commission of the Status of Women and returned again this year where I heard about World Pulse.

I'm a passionate photographer, aspiring filmmaker, blogger & social entrepreneur & have been since a very young age, turning my creative interests into a viable entrepreneurial enterprise (Sweet Scrub © & Kasha’s Cards of Kindness ©) which provides funds to fuel my love of photography, while simultaneously contributing to causes I care about.

I'm taking the remainder of the school year off to travel with my mother and will be leaving in May to start a six month journey around the world to find stories of hope and resilience that I can weave into a documentary film I'm making about Global Citizenship. You can follow me as I blog about inspirational people, places and ideas that are shaping the future we want to create and changing the world for the better.

Hi darling,

Welcome to World Pulse! I am thrilled to connect with you and to learn about your Global Sunrise Project. I am excited for you that you get to follow your passion so early and I love that your sweet mum is right there with you supporting you to follow your dreams and make your voice count around the world. I am also a photographer and a cinematographer and i co-run a digital media firm that produces documentaries, jingles, music videos, animation and films. You can visit our website to learn about us and see some of our work www.marksmenconsult.com We are wrapping up a short documentary we did in a local community in Nigeria that tells the story of resilience in the face of hardship. I will share the link with you, once the video is posted.
I also run a non profit organisation called Girls Voices and we have a community platform, on Facebook, where girls connect and share their voices on issues that concern them such as education, entertainment, health, enterpreneurship and other issues. https://www.facebook.com/girlsvoices?ref=hl Please visit our Facebook Page, Like our Page and invite your friends to join in as we make girls voices count all over the world. I would like to share your story on our Facebook page, please send me your story along with your choice photograph and watch your story inspire other girls. I could share the story you shared here if that is fine with you or you send me the story you want to share to girlsvoices@outlook.com.
I look forward to knowing you more and sharing more with you as time goes on. I wish you a fantastic trip as you travel round the world and i will follow up on your progress. A shout out to your Mum too, I Love Her! Have fun!
