- Faire cessé ce crime et soutenir la victime ;
- Faire bénéficier la victime des soins médicaux indispensables ;
- Lui apporter si nécessaire un soutien psychologique ;
- Renforcer la protection de la victime en portant l’affaire en justice (en faisant arrêter l’auteur) ;

Stop Sexual Violence!

D.R.C. is a hospitable country which every extended part of the world tries to make friends, but the world knows that D.R.C. is the capital of rape. Female leaders do not stop to work to defend and plead for cases of sexual violence done to our mothers, girls, and children. Such is the case for old women, girls, and children; it is to rape your mother and daughter, which is unacceptable for the nation. How many people suffer in silence without any kind of assistance where the homes of families are dislocated, they do not know what to do because their lives are destroyed, and how will they reintegrate into society? It takes a lot of time to de-traumatize them with ongoing war. This stress has caused a lot of damage to human life. The nation is destroyed, the Congolese women struggle so that this plague can stop and so that the dignity of women can be respected. The perpetrator should be prosecuted by justice. The visit from the women from Nobel Women’s Initiative in eastern D.R.C. at the maman shujaa center in Bukavu, have truly helped us and they have shown their bravery by putting emphasis on rape and sexual gender-based violence in situations of conflict. They have brought a precious stone by enhancing the lives of women in general. They conducted a workshop which had its theme as: “THE INTERNATIONAL CAMPAIGN TO END VIOLENCE AND RAPE BASED ON GENDER IN CONFLICT”
These women have seen how Congolese women put effort and come together to find a way that will end sexual violence, so women can rediscover their worth. Madame Leymah Gbowee had said in a message on facebook: “They say that #DRC is the capital of rape in the world, but what I see, is that it is the capital of strong women and solidarity between women” and thanks to technology, all of our messages will be heard, transmitted to the whole world with a simple click from the mouse of our small computer. To overcome this, we must denounce sexual violence in D.R.C.
Solutions:
Denunciation can:
-Stop crime and support the victim;
-Benefit the victim with indispensable medical care;
-Provide, if necessary, psychological support;
-Reinforce protection for the victim by bringing the case to justice (stopping the perpetrator);
-Avoid having the perpetrator commit injustice to other people
-Provide sustainable safety

Mauwa Brigitte,
