International Women’s Day

In our country, the DR Congo, we too celebrated this day by reflecting on the lives of women in general, and the current situation of rural women in the eastern part of our country in particular. In referring to the title of this article, we recognize the presence of one courageous woman in Bukavu, Leymah Gbowee, who visited the Maman Shujaa Center this month and saw with her own eyes that the DR Congo is a country where the women are strong and united together; oh, Madam Leymah, we so wanted to meet you and it’s true, I personally saw this strong woman and her whole delegation. We praise you without end because the world says, “The DRC is the rape capital of the world” but you came to the Congo anyway, we praise you without end and again welcome you to our country of the Congo and especially to the Maman Shujaa Center, particularly from the Girl Ambassadors of this center.

Merci !
