Clown One Italia
Clown One Italia Onlus (www.clowns.it) is a humanitarian association established in 2000 in Milan (Italy) by Ginevra Sanguigno - actress, mime, international expert in clown therapy and active member of dr. Patch Adams’ team “Clown Ambassadors” and the Gesundheit Institute.
The President of the Association is Italo Bertolasi – documentarist, journalist and photographer.
Clown One Italia develops projects and awareness-raising initiatives aimed at promoting the role of clowns as care-actors in poor countries and socially distressed areas of the world.
The main areas of activity are as follows:
• organization and implementation of projects aimed at disseminating strategies and methodologies for clown therapists in Italy, North America and Japan. In particular, among the care-in-action activities promoted by the Association is the annual Italian Clown Tour that takes clown volunteers to hospitals, jails and nursing homes;
• organization and participation in humanitarian missions in developing countries, war zones and emergency settings such as Russia, El Salvador, Sri Lanka and Peru;
• training courses on clown therapy for social workers, volunteers, medical students, etc;
• photographic exhibitions on the role and activities of volunteer clowns;
• sponsorship of solidarity and social support projects in Italy, Ivory Coast, Argentina, Cambodia, Nepal and Afghanistan;
• organization of seminars and workshops in cooperation with the US-based School for Designing a Society (www.designingasociety.net);
• organization of transcultural study groups.
Benvenuta!
Ciao. Siamo così felici che vi hanno aderito la nostra comunità. I lived in Firenze over 20 years ago but now, my Italian is molto pessimo.
What a wonderful organization and I would love for you to share with us some of your experiences with Clown One Italia Onlus. You might like to connect with our member, Dani, who works for Circus Oz in Australia, which is committed to gender equity and social justice, as well as inspiring generations of Australians. Take a look around at your groups (http://www.worldpulse.com/pulsewire/groups) and read some of the journals from our members (http://www.worldpulsemagazine.com/pulsewire/voices). With a group, you can build a powerful network bringing together PulseWire members with similar visions who want to share ideas or actions. With the group journal, you can brainstorm solutions, pose questions, test ideas and create a support network for your visions.
I am so happy that you have found PulseWire and look forward to reading more from you. A dopo,
Janice
