Thank you

Thank you Busayo, we will hopefully make it better and more beautiful! I'm glad the site serves you well now.

As for your Vocal Contributor badge, you still have it, it's just that you have several badges and it was bumped off of the view on your profile. We will need to work to build a place to show all of your badges! If I go to the member directory and search for Vocal Contributors from Nigeria, you still appear on that list though. :) I assume you still want to have your other badges showing too: Welcomer, Listener, VOF Graduate? Let me know if I should remove one so that the Vocal Contributor badge shows instead. Right now, there is only room for three.

Best wishes sister!

Dear Scott,
Thank you brother for your prompt response, you can leave profile as it is, I just want to know that I did not do anything that warrant the removal. I now understand why

Ideal platform

Dear Scott,
Worldpulse has been an ideal platform for women across the globe where they have shared, voiced and realized their own voices and potentials by connecting with one and all. It is a commendable work and effort that has been continously giving results.I congratulate to the team of Worldpulse for the same. IAt the same time I feel, there should be some way or steps to recognize when new accounts are opened to know their validity and authenticity, for sometimes there are anonymous id's and people posting articles which are in no way concerned to the function of Worldpulse. This is not a commercial site nor a one where anyone can post adverts and fake things.
This is one issue and another , readers who come here through different links shared on social sites or through mails, should be able to share their views too on the articles they read. For now,one needs to be a member of Worldpulse, this can be altered ,so that there is scope for the readers too.

Once again thanks for giving us such a wonderful site, with best wishes,
Soumya

Soumya-
I came across your response and wanted to thank you for your input. I know that controlling spam and the like is a challenge for any social website, and that the issue is of import for WP. For now, if you come across any post that appears to be inappropriate, you can click on the 'flag' tab at the top of the post.

I agree with you about others being able to comment on posts. But along the same lines as the spammer issue, I'm wondering if the site allowed anyone to comment without being a member, if it would bring even more spam and inappropriate content? It is definitely an important thing to engage even more people and grow the online community, and WP is always looking for innovative ways to do this. Scott may have further thoughts on this as well.

Thank you again for your input and for being a vital part of our community!

thanks

Thanks Michelle for the input and to let me know about the use of flag option here. Its good everyone here strives to make this site a wonderful and interactive one. Iam sure spams will be sorted out gradually with time .
Iam thankful you responded to my concern and shared the point.

Best wishes,
Soumya

Balance of public and private

Hi Soumya,
You raise an important concern here-- how to know if people are real or not. We always encourage people to share as much about themselves as they are comfortable sharing, but some people start slowly, cautiously on our site and so they choose to not share very much. World Pulse staff is always monitoring the site for spam or fake accounts, so you can know that we are doing our best to remove those accounts quickly.

I think that the idea of allowing non-registered users to comment is interesting and would certainly increase the number of comments from readers. However, I think we want to error on the side of keeping our site a warm, safe and supportive community. The comment threads on public sites go down-hill very quickly as I'm sure you have seen. Here we have built something very unique and we work to keep that positive attitude at the core.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

Thanks

Thanks Scott for sharing with us the opinion of the team. Iam sure the team will find out ways of authenticity soon. Regarding the comments by private and public ,I agree to you that many times, the percentage declines as easily as it touches the peak. But sometimes people who geneuinely want to comment and are not regular users and visitors feel restrained by this. I think you can ask the person to submit id of any social site or network and then let the comment go. Or some other option can be found to withheld spammers.
But its always great to see the WP team working so heard to reach one and all to the corner and create a change in this world by their efforts.
Iam lucky to be here on WP,
Best wishes,
Soumya

Photo

Dear Mr. Beck,

I made quite a few recommendations to Zoe (via email) months back regarding the site. I'll try to find that email and re-post all the suggestions here. But for now, although it's a very minor issue, I'm having trouble uploading my photo. I resized it to fit the dimensions but still it doesn't work. However, I faced the same situation with the website of International Center for Journalists. Is this a common bug? Let me know. In any case, I'd like the photo uploading process to be easier.

Regards,
Monica Islam

Monica-
I am sorry to hear about your uploading issue! Technology is a great thing but has it's challenges for sure. I know the office is closed for the weekend, but I can make sure someone sees your question and hopefully be able to help you resolve this next week.

Thanks for being an active member of this community! All the best!

Any luck?

Hi Monica,
I would love to see your email with thoughts-- if you can forward that to me I would appreciate it!

With regard to the photo change, have you had any success yet?

I know that sometimes a computer will "cache" or store an image, and so even though you've changed it correctly, the new image will not appear until you've cleared that cache. Right now I see a photo of you with a red coat on, sitting at a table. Is that the new photo?

Your note is received though, we will aim to make updating the photo easier!
Thank you!

Hi dear Scott

I have signed up for the new website tryouts, and am eager to become part of the project. You know me, I am always thinking of new ways to go further.

I am now living in another city, a bigger one, where there are more possibilities of making some women become dreamers.

I will let you know how things are going, when they are ready.

I have been sent a survey, and filled it. But that is all in terms of the new website.

I hope we can soon try out the interactive new features of the site!

A big hug to you and the daring and outstanding, World Pulse Team!

Love,

Jackie

Thanking

Hi dear world pulse team members,

we have been getting access to online world news thanks to world pulse website. It is a great privilege that we ever run in Democrati Republic of Congo, especially in Bukavu. However, only the majority of women in town benefit the connection. A very few cross root women attend the media center since it is located in town. Though a lot of problems such as gender based violence, sexual violence, human rights abuse, killing, etc. happen in country sides. Another issue i noticed is that the way or the environment in which women in Bukavu ( South kivu) work does not fit. This because they do not happen to share all the time their daily stories. Any way, i thank you for having created new environment for women that fits to think big by starting small.

Best regards.
