Hats Off to Scott Beck + Other Thoughts for the Listener

Dear Voices of Our Future Listeners,

As I dove into my first assignment to evaluate, I was literally pulsating with excitement. As I clicked on the "link," I imagined the words of pure inspiration that would come next. And, then, blam! I was suddenly in the land of uncertainty. I was not even sure whether the member I had been assigned to had in fact done the assignment for Week One. The title was incorrect. There was zero mention of Web 2.0. Ack! What was I supposed to do!?

Each of us will likely face similar questions over the next four weeks. This is a journey on the frontiers of new media. The way is not known for us, but more poignantly, for the Applicants. Every uncertainty we feel, the Applicants likely feel ten-fold. It is not on accident that Scott has created a parallel process for the Listeners.

When any of us are faced with uncertainty, I encourage us to tap into the wisdom of this group to find our answers. If we have ideas to improve the process, post them! While we cannot guarantee every idea will be implemented, we can guarantee that every idea will be heard.

Scott has volunteered countless hours to develop both a comprehensive, yet simple evaluation process and a nurturing and supportive Listeners' Group. Hats off to Scott!

And by the way, what do I do if I am not sure that the journal entry I was given is actually the assignment?

In spirited partnership,

Great Question!

I'm sure there will be more than one question that comes up in this process. That's part of the fun!

We have tried our best to retrieve only completed assignments for us to review, but nothing is perfect. :) There shouldn't be too many, and I apologize for sending out confusion. This week is definitely one for learning!

Jennifer, you did the right thing in this case...just ask! There are two approaches to this issue:
1. You can leave the review incomplete and contact me about it.
2. Go to the evaluation form, fill out the ID information and answer "NO" to question 1.

Either way, I will hear about it quickly and we can work toward a solution.

Let's use the Group Journal as a way to post our Questions about listening! I'm sure we will encounter the same issues week by week. Let's collaborate and thrive together.

Scott rocks!

I've seen Scott put in hours of time with great patience and humor- he does everything in a calm, deliberate manner.
What a great person to work with. Yea, Scott!

What Up?

You are really lost. I have been searching and searching unfortunately I am Lost. Wanted to post this good news to you in our Sole Sistas unfortunately I cant get it right. Did you realize we have two new Babies? Wao, I was so happy for the two young at heart who joined us for this great cause. By the way, is it possible to know the link? Want to post something in our Magazine to get people join from this end. My prayer is we get someone who will see all the works we are doing and come to the rescue of the less fortunate n our society. Jennifer, Yes we Can!

Let's find our way together.

Please accept my apology for my vanishing act. The past few weeks have been too nuts. So much to do and so little time. Add in stomach viruses and a teething Jonah.... ack!

We will build our Sole Sistas group together. I will have more time to devote after the Voices of Our Future Application process. Can you be patient with me until then? In the meantime, check out Global Giving, especially their project partners page.

Do you work with any of these organizations? If so, jot them down so we can discuss further.
