Fingers on the World Pulse

I am glad to have found you ;). My friend Fiona who lives in France posted a link to your website this weekend. I checked you out and here I am. It is not yet 8:30 in the morning here by the Chesapeake Bay in the state of Maryland, US and already I have emailed with a friend in London and agreed to write her a recommendation on Linkedin (check her out--Margaret Rooke--she's a great writer and does a lot of CSR work). Of course, I'd forgotten what it takes to make a recommendation on Linkedin so I had to Google that before I could get the job done. At Christmas while on vacation in Arizona I met Yvonne. Before that, we had known each only through our blogs. Hers is http://timetoconsiderthelilies.com/ and mine is www.blarneycrone.com. We are fast friends now. I work as an executive coach and all my clients find me through the web (www.leadershipcoachdc.com)

I am enjoying an online writing course through the Writer's Center https://www.writer.org/ and have a project to complete this morning. I saw a great recipe yesterday for a cauliflower and walnut curry--just right for our weather this week--I'll google it later today. It has been snowing since Wednesday night and so on Thursday and Friday I worked online from home.

I can't imagine the frustration of knowing you could have the world at your fingertips but being denied the opportunity to connect, learn and enjoy yourself this way. I wish World Pulse the best of luck for Women Weaving the Web.

Hi Liz,

I love the way you write.. and that last paragraph couldn't have been better said. Sooooo true!
Going to try and connect with you on Linkedin... by the way I smiled when you said you'd google this, google that... coz Google has become a real friend of mine! We're just clicks away from great information, aren't we?

all the best,

Edith

World Pulse

Liz,

You describe your way of living which is the 21st century standard of living. Yes, we need technology and it has made our lives easier but the main input is how fast we can connect with people and the rest of the world. The 21st century = technology and no one should be deprived of this tool.
Thank you very much for this nice post.

Perspective

Hi Liz,

Thank you for the eloquence. I believe so strongly in the power of influence and inspiration by showing and breaking through to the emotional-affective side of people. Your story doesn't just explain something, but instead it enlightens people to reflect and think. Its simplicity is ironic to its message, making the point of your story all the more powerful. Thank you so much for this!!!

Great reminder!

I had to chuckle a little when I read your piece, as I had done many of the same things this morning before logging on to World Pulse. It is easy for some us to forget how easy our access to information is, but this is something we should never forget! We must keep in mind how many women around the world desire this ease of access, yet must struggle so much for even a few minutes on the internet to communicate with others, share their stories, gather information and conduct business, Thank you for the personable and well-exemplified reminder!

Connecting, Learning, Enjoying

Liz,

You give so many great examples of both the daily pleasures and the meaningful work that is possible by having the internet close at hand – it seems like you are doing a good job of making the most of what the web has to offer! I appreciate that you highlighted the benefits of connecting, learning, and enjoying. Thanks for your post and I’m glad that you have joined the World Pulse community.

Thanks for Connecting

And the reminder of how we have such access to just about anything we need (or don't need) at our fingertips here at any time, and the joy that can come from those connections made. So much to learn from one another. Thank you Liz!
