Evolve

Mankind is constantly evolving, looking for new ideas, changing their minds, and coming up with new inventions. One of my favorite things to do is write poetry. I feel that poems have the power to impact people and express emotions not easily described. I use poetry to express myself and to figure things out. This one is called "Evolve"

The earth continues to revolve around the sun,
Leaving trails of stars in its wake;
They shine in my eyes as if the universe itself
Is contained in one infinite speck.
The moon continues to bask in the glow of day,
Just so it can illuminate the night;
If only my arms could reach the skies
So that I could reach into space.
The sun continues to burn indefinitely,
Never ceasing to create light;
It sparks the movements of humanity
Just so they may continue their trivial existence.
So the cycle carries on in harmony,
Earth, moon, and sun generating life;
While the man-made world appears to ignore it,
I bathe in the peace of the natural world.
While the man-made world is concerned with substance,
I search for happiness away from "things."
While the man-made world crumbles at its fingertips,
I am the power to change it.

YES.

I love this poem, Rebecca!
YES. You are the power to ignite change.
You have many gifts, one of which is your prose. Words, as you know, are very powerful indeed.
