Introducing myself and my journal

About Me
I believe, from the day I was able to walk, my mother placed me in a chair with a drawing pad, a pencil, paint brush and paints. She always encouraged me to take as many art classes as possible, not minding too much if I did not excel in biology. I have had a great passion for the arts, studying dance, literature and music theory along with taking drawing, photography and painting courses.

This creative upbringing influenced my direction in first seeking a degree in Advertising Arts, being interrupted with a detour seeking a B.A. in Art History from the University of WA, in which, I thoroughly enjoyed as it taught me about the world and the ray of different cultures that I could explore and learn from. This also sparked my desire to travel and to want to work in an international environment, which at this point in my life, have only had a glimpse of. I did return to finish the Graphic Design degree after volunteering in several museum capacities realizing that I needed to be hands on with my work.

I ended up falling in-love with design in all capacities and have worked as a graphic designer, project manager and art director for the last twelve years. I have worked within the corporate realm as well as non-profit within various marketing and communication departments. I have mostly worked in Seattle, Portland and two years in Brussels, which allowed me to work internationally and travel the world a bit, (as I worked for an international design association). I would love to take my work a step further and utilize it on a level to make a difference in this global economy. To have a voice in which my design will make a difference. This is the reason why I have joined World Pulse as a volunteer as I feel too often as a woman, our voice often goes unheard or not far enough. I am excited to be part of such a strong voice now.

For a personal synopsis of who I am, I love to cook, travel and experience life and the people that bring it all together. I am forever trying to learn more than I know and to experience situations to the fullest with the intent of creative positive life changing adventures.

My Passions:
Cooking, art and music, writing, friends and family and wanting to bring positive change to this ever-changing world that we live in.

My Challenges:
Life in itself can be a challenge, but my intent is to forever move forward.

My Vision for the Future:
To make a positive difference.

My Areas of Expertise:
Graphic design, photography project management, creative thinking and writing.
