NLK’s Women online

This is Negem Lela Ken HIV Positive Women Support Organization (NLK) based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. NLK is an indigenous, not for profit and nongovernmental organization established by five HIV positive women in 2005.

NLK’s mission is to intervene in endeavours to reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS and its impacts through realizing the social, economic and health right of the women living with HIV/AIDS, other affected women’s group and their families; and NLK envision achieving HIV/.AIDS free society and the world where the tragic is controlled.

In its’ foresighted advocacy efforts, NLK has been engaged in forming positive women networks and has created women friendly computer centers at the grass root HIV/AIDS affected communities of Ethiopia to help the women raise their voices with the over all goal of achieving their deserved social, economic and health rights in their communities

Wow, this is really an inspiring story. It is admirable that those brave 5 women decided to have a positive view of life and created that organization. Thank you for sharing their story.

I would like to learn abit more on how this organisation works. Do they train these women in use of computers? Are these women that come to the computer centers encouraged to write about their ideas and share them on the internet?
Lastly why is this story important to you personally?
