VOF week 1 ( OPPORTUNITY PRESENTED )

An opportunity presented it self when I scanned through the web one day.
Wed 2.0 exicts me because I know I now have a plateform were I can talk and listen as we share what we are going trough as women globely.
In the past a womans words were censured and only what seemed to be 'acceptable' to the listener was said living out the most important of what a woman had said.
to have a place I can share my feelings without been judged is the best thing that can happen to me and all the women connected.
Wed 2.0 presents a solution and it is a starting point for us as women to create solutions to our problems and work collectively and cohesivelly.
This is what the world of women has been waiting for...to share, learn, encorage and comfort each other as we change the world to make it a better place for us all.
there is power in numbers, and thank you for creating a place that brings the numbers together for a common goal- Liberty!!

Our future Hopes
Dear Source,
This is one of the ways that we can reach the women, however the challenge still remains because the majority are in rural areas were they can not access the internet.
As a matter of fact, my office is starting a resource center aimed at empowering the women we work with, so that they have a chance to use the computer.
However we still have a challenge of acessing the computers.
Anyway, I have the hope that together we shall find a way of reaching many.

Thank you Sharon for your post. I have read your other blogs and I can see, from your writing, that you are very committed to bringing about change for the women in your life. I am saddened to hear about so much abuse in your part of the world. We here in the United States also have a tremendous problem with Domestic Violence against women and children. When I hear about these things I get very angry - but I have faith that someday, these crimes will cease.
I believe, that it is through empowerment and programs such as VOF that we can truly bring about change in our world.
I think you summed it up best by closing with the word: LIBERTY!

Domestic violence I agree with you is common to all women regardless of race!

Sharon, thanks for your post. You make good points. In many ways women censure our own voices even today and web 2.0 gives women the courage to speak up. I would have loved to see more detail on how web 2.0 is enabling you personally and what types of solutions you see Web 2.0 presenting in the empowerment of women.
