I am writing this post again since i am really eager to read a post on this Group. I am talking to the young at heart who have joined this exciting and vibrant Network. Those who want to keep high blood pressure away and have a great toned body,( started running when i was 78kg,going down to 72kg) I hear someone saying Wao...Welcome to this group and see a lot of changes to your life and your comunity.
Those who want to bear the cold in the morning to go out and sweat it out for a worthy cause. Jennifer our Team leader, Shiku and I have started this great group to enable us inspire each other in whatever we are doing. As you read this post ask your self, if you would you want to sweat it out for the less fortunate. How I miss reading encouraging posts of Runners who are leaving the warmth of their beds early in the morning to go out and do a run not only for their sake but to give HOPE to the less privallaged.
Join us and let us know how it goes. I am eager to read your post.
Hit SOLE SISTAS and lets run together.
Big Welcome
Consolata.

I am finding the best time of day for me to run is later in the evening after Jonah has gone to bed. What a glorious time of day! No one is out. The neighborhood is quiet. It's just me and my iPod. I am eager for longer days of light, nonetheless, when I can stretch my runs to longer distances.

Love,
Jennifer

Lucky that place is safe.

Jennifer, what a lucky girl you are? Running at night? Here in our country oh.. my God... you try you are either attacked or raped. It is that bad. We hope this will change for the better one day.For now we keep ourselves safe, healthy so as to offer ourselves to others.
Enjoy every moment and know at heart we are running together.
Regards,
Consolata

Lucky is right

I've lived in a few other countries and the thought of running at night gives me shivers. Mongolia was filled with wild dogs plus guard dogs that were meaner than any animal I've ever encountered. Add a debilitating alcohol problem on a national scale (at least then) and I can only imagine what problems I'd have "run" into!

In Spain, I lived in Madrid. And well, I just don't think one would run through the streets of Madrid at night.

Yes, I am lucky. I live next to a police precinct and I counted 3 cops driving around our neighborhood as I ran. I also run on a busy, well lit street. My husband wishes I wouldn't run at night, but gives me the space for my sanity... and ours! When I need to get in longer runs, we may end up throwing Jonah in his chariot and making it a family outing. I'll post a picture of me and Jonah with his chariot, so you can see what I mean.

Have you had a chance to check out Global Giving yet?

Love,
Jennifer
