When Mexican women are happy ;)

In Mexico, most of the People with Disabilities (PwD) do not enjoy the guaranty of their basic rights. Our regular landscape is full of images we label like these:

social burden
God’s punishment
Different people

Sadly, México is a country where football or politics move multitudes; but other human concerns do not strike with the same resonance. It is not unusual that PwD are neglected, abused, and/or ignored. Most of them are invisible before the eyes of many.
We grow up thinking what culture force us to believe: PwD were different to the so called “normal people”. We talk about PwD feeling sorrow and pity. We even dare to call them “disabled”.

Then, one of the women I Iove the most, my dear Auntie Liz became “disabled” and my family was forced to learn about her rights. But, more importantly; we realized she didn’t stop being happy and having dreams. Even if she cannot talk or walk as she used to; she is still trying to be happy. How is this possible??? Other people wonder.

What about you? What do you think of people with disabilities?

Who are they?

How are their lives?

If you are a woman, have you thought if their lives are different from yours?

If you are a mother, have you thought in the kind of motherhood they perform?

If you think you are happy, what would make Mexican women with disabilities happy?

Do you have a reason to be happy???

If you don’t, please play the video and get inspired!

If you do, please share the video praising your happiness!
