Time to Celebrate!

Bonjour a tous et toutes,

Welcome to all of our new translators, and Hello to all of you who have been volunteers with us for a while!
We celebrate you all!

We are so proud to have all of you participate in this very innovative crowd-sourced translation pilot program!

But is it fair to call it a "pilot" anymore as we have recently reached 1000, yes, ONE THOUSAND translations from French to English of journal entries written by our Sisters in the Democratic Republic of the Congo!

Congratulations to all of you for contributing your time, skills and energy to ensuring that the Voices of the Mama Shujaa are broadcasted to a larger audience thanks to your English translations!

One of our community members and translators, PilarAlbisu from Canada offered a wonderful reflection on her contributions as a translator to this project and on the connections she built with our Sisters in the DRC.

Here is some of what she had to say in her "Letter to the Women of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

"Dear sisters,
Not too long ago, I joined this amazing initiative called World Pulse. At that time, I had no idea that I would come into contact with so many strong and fearless women. As a translator, I was prepared to lend a helping hand in any way possible, but I never imagined how much this experience would open my eyes to the realities of the world. But the best part, by far, has been learning from women like you..."

Consider sharing your reflections as well on your experience as a Volunteer Translator and /or French Speaking Volunteer with World Pulse! Comment on this entry or write a new entry in your journal!

We are so thankful for the contributions of all of you!

With Gratitude,

Delphine and Scott, Online Community Team!
