Anatomy of an Autobiography

Anatomy of Autobiography : Let me digress , halt my progress for a little recess , let me retrace and express . Autobiography is the way I narrate , the way I look at things from the time I am just a particle in the cosmic dust waiting for my destiny , me an egg or a sperm , a zygote , a morula , a blastula , a gastrula , an embryo floating in the amniotic fluid wallowing in my surroundings within mother's womb , a boy taking shape with tissue differentiation , organ differentiation , reaching full term within 10 months of intra-uterine existence , A Jeevi , A Soul , An Aathma , A Jeevaathma . It is said by sages and seers that till this aforesaid moment as A Soul I am aware of my previous births , my cosmic journey and the instant I am born , take my first breath , cry out with all primordial gusto , when once my umbilical cord is cut I forgot all what I knew as an unborn Jeevaathma . Now I am absolutely helpless , at the mercy of all . Now my autobiography as a neonate , as an infant , as a toddler and till such a time my memory records the events , is a compendium of inherent knowledge carried in my genes , what I learnt while growing up through my five sense organs , and much later on as a part of a large family what I have observed the traditions , the rituals , the mile stones , which I am at liberty to incorporate into my own autobiography . Let me quote a simple example - as every infant I am certain my mother has breast fed me which is a fact of nature and when I grew up and I was not a good son and my mother now aged scolded me thus " arey I breast fed you , nurtured you , and brought you up in my lap and bosom , now you are an ungrateful adult " - so I knew , I go back to my infancy and start as my own narration . In fact two more things I have not mentioned , but now I will narrate - while I was within my Mother's womb , two rituals were performed , one early on to safeguard pregnancy and keep my Mom safe ( Seemantham ) and second to safeguard me and to bring me into the world safe and sound , alive , kicking and crying ( Pumsavanam ) - now don't ask me how I know about these rituals - I leave it to friends , well wishers , elders , juniors , each and every one to guess or not to guess - ' AS YOU LIKE IT ' or leave it . - AnasooyaAthrison Aathreya balakrishna murthy ramaraju .
