Why I support women

will_and_stemm.JPG

I was blessed to raise three daughters, learning why females are different than I am. I got in touch with my female side during those wonderful years and when they all left home, found girls in our community who could benefit from my support and commitment. My first encounter with women in great need, was after I met a missionary from India and learned how women are treated as second class citizens. I was outraged and started supporting efforts to help them. My passion has expanded, so I see all girls as needing to be protected.

One thing I find funny, is when I tell a woman that I am a woman's advocate. NOBODY, has smiled and said thank you. Rather they all look at me like I'm going to try to seduce them or something. I seldom use the term woman's advocate, but wish I could share how I'm carrying out my commitment to help females. Any suggestions?
peace,
William

Thank you for your committed support!

William,

Your commitment and support is admirable! Assumptions and stereotypes are boundaries that are not easy to break down, but I hope that you and fellow advocates continue to persevere. Sharing your own story with those women you wish to support may help open eyes and overcome some of the obstacles you are facing. Continue to reach out to other male advocates of women's issues and learn about both the struggles they may be facing and the secrets to their successes.

Thank you!

Amelia

Thank You!

William -
A joy to see you here, kicking off the men's discussion group - it is so fitting. You are a leader, a pioneer as a women's advocate. One of the most vocal and inspiring men I know. Not only that, but a man who follows up his words with true support. Can you hear the ocean of cheers?
Thank you, thank you - for all that you do for women and girls, and humanity. We at World Pulse will be closely watching this space and encouraging many men to join what promises to be a lively, soul-stirring discussion!
Love,

Jensine Larsen
