Introducing myself and my journal

About Me:
I am a Graduate student at Concordia University-Portland, studying International development and service. I will be traveling for the next year, to Italy, Thailand, and hopefully South Africa and Uganda! I hope to meet many people along the way and hear the stories of their lives. I am excited to join the World Pulse community!

My Passions:
inclusive feminism, running, food, the Adirondack Mountains and Lake Champlain, Tom Robbins novels, simple conversations, hearing people's stories

My Challenges:
speaking up, being confident

My Vision for the Future:
the world is at a state where more stories of optimism and hope fill the news, rather than tragedy and despair

My Areas of Expertise:
sociology, gender, listening, building relationships

Welcome to World Pulse, Kmlareau!

Dear "Kmlareau,"

I'm so happy you have connected with World Pulse and are so inspired to be part of this global community of women. I do think you will find your connection with women (and men!) here to be a source of strength, optimism and empathy during your life-journey. Thank you for sharing yourself with us and for being motivated to help alleviate suffering on this planet. It's wonderful to have you here!

I love how your passion is "inclusive" feminism; we are ALL family, sisters AND brothers and need each one of us to make our unique contribution to creating peace, harmony and justice for all. And you are so right that our news organizations need to highlight stories that inspire people, rather than make us despair. The past week I have made it a point to share some of the positive stories I've come across with friends and family.

I encourage you to take some time to read the "Getting Started" guide to really learn about World Pulse and how you may contribute as well as get started networking with others:

Again, welcome! Enjoy being part of World Pulse!

With love,

"I wish I could show you when you are lonely or in darkness the astonishing light of your own being."
