INTERNATIONAL DAY OF RURAL WOMEN October 15, 2013 IN CIRUNGA KABARE
WORLD DAY RURAL WOMENS
SOCIAL WORK FOR INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT
O S O D I ASBL

Theme:
Claim your right to dignity and education.
(a) Women's Rights
Resolution 1325: gender equality, development and peace
-Representation of women at all levels of the decision-making process for management and prevention efforts in national, regional and institutional institutes.
Eg: That conflicting parties respect international rights as applicable to the protection of civilian women and children.
Refers to the Geneva Convention of 1949 (modified in 1977) on the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women.
That conflicting parties protect women and children against sexual violence, especially rape and other forms of sexual violations.
We condemn in the strongest possible terms the culture of impunity, genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, massacres as well as the sexual violence against women and children.
N.B: We recommend that the Congolese state put an end to all forms of violence so that the UN can check whether women's rights are respected.
That is establishes tribunals and other public institutions for the effective protection of women against discrimination. Establish equality and equal footing between men and women in education, healthcare, and employment opportunities, as well as universal suffrage and other political opportunities.
DIGNITY
Referring to the Charter of the United Nations that reaffirms one's fundamental rights to dignity and worth, and to equal rights between men and women. We demand that these rights be respected in our country, in our province and in particular, in kabare, our territory where women are still neglected because the notion of dignity is not respected and needs to be changed so that women and girls in rural areas are treated equally.
EDUCATION
To educate a woman is to educate an nation. Without forgetting the particular problems that rural women encounter and the important role these women hold in their households, these problems include:
-the exodus of women in rural areas caused by recurring wars in our country and in particular, our territories.
-sexual violence against women and girls
-negligence of public officials
-non monetary economic transactions, poverty, malnutrition, insecurity, discrimination, etc.
We, rural women, recommend that the Congolese State take appropriate measures to eliminate discrimination against women and girls in rural areas, and to finally provide a basis of equality between men and women by assuring their right to participate in the development of rural areas.
Women should receive all types of training and education - academic and otherwise, including functional literacy, as a result, rural women needs computer access for international training.
Rural women will then be able to benefit from all the comments and popularization services, notably to increase technical skills.
