STOP A LA GEURRE EN REPUBLIQUE DE MOCRATIQUE DU CONGO

thème : stop a la guerre a l’est de la R. D. Congo
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5. kila mutu ajikaze kutafuta amani katiyake na jirani zake wote, amani ndio msinji wa maendeleo.amani yangu iwe amani yako.furaha yangu iwe furaha yako.tupendane na tusaidiane kujenga amani katika jamii zetu zote

End the War in the Democratic Republic of the Congo

Subject: End the war in the Eastern D. R. Congo
1. We, the mothers of the Congo, want peace and only peace, a lasting and unconditional peace. We are tired of burying our children and husbands killed by the war.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. Peace is a priority, because peace in the Congo is proof of development in the sub-region of the African Great Lakes. We need all the peace activists in Africa and around the world to engage themselves in saving the D. R. Congo from this routine war.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. We want to use honest and sincere dialogues to end this war, and we want each party to respect their own engagements. We are waiting for the agreements that have already been signed to be put into practice. Organized talks do not have to be an occasion to only share power. We are waiting for sustainable solutions that are satisfying for the entire sub-region.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. We say that the war and all types of violence towards women and children during the war must end. The wars in the Eastern D. R. Congo have enriched sadists by breaking thousands of families apart. It is time for us, the women of the entire world, to raise our voices up together to put an end to this tragedy. We want lasting peace in our country, war benefits nobody.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5. kila mutu ajikaze kutafuta amani katiyake na jirani zake wote, amani ndio msinji wa maendeleo.amani yangu iwe amani yako.furaha yangu iwe furaha yako.tupendane na tusaidiane kujenga amani katika jamii zetu zote [translator’s note: this part of the text is not in French, and I cannot translate it].
6. Let us seek peace, for war is only a chance for many violations of human rights, the rights of women in particular. Why are there all these raped women? Why are there all these women held captive as sex slaves by armed men? Your silence makes you an accomplice.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
7. Sexual assaults, miserable life, hunger, girls taken out of school, unemployment, slavery, and the underdevelopment of the D. R. Congo are a few results of the war. This is why we must first seek peace for all before looking for any other solution.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
8. May the people of the world engage themselves to bring a lasting peace to the Eastern D. R. Congo. May everybody who loves women also think of us, of our children, and of our peace. We’ll see if you love me…
9. You, the leading women, the ones who work for our problems, the human rights activists… take heart. We are behind you. We support you in the fight against all types of violence towards women. Together, we will succeed.

Here we present a few of the messages that the women from our center have published.
