Introducing myself and my journal

About Me:
My name is Irène and I am currently in my second year of study at Bryn Mawr College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania in the United States. I specialize in French, Middle Eastern Studies, and Africana Studies, but my other academic and personal interests include history, film, art, linguistics, literature, music (from rap to opera), cooking, and social justice. As a volunteer translator for World Pulse, I am excited to be exposed to new people and learn from their stories, all the while trying to translate them with precision and attention.

My Passions:
French, Italian, cultural inquiry, history, film, art, linguistics, literature, music (from rap to opera), cooking, and social justice

My Vision for the Future:
I would like to believe that if everyone believes and engages in social activism and empowerment in their own way, eventually we must come to a world where problems can be resolved nonviolently and the voices of many are heard and valued.
