WHAT DOES THE INTERNET MEAN TO ME?

The internet is one of the tools offered by a computer for the entertainment of people. Today, in the 21st century, it has become essential for everybody.

The internet which facilitates many things and shrinks the size of the world, represents for me the most certain and simplest mode of communication.

In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the internet is not yet practicable at a sufficient level, due to the underdevelopment of the country and its numerous problems that impede its development, and I would even go so far as to say, due to the bad policy of its leaders.

To this effect, having access to the internet means in my life that the world of technology or the computerized world is opened up to me. However, numerous are the obstacles we must regularly overcome to access and use the internet.

While this access to the internet brings to our lives many things, such as the ability to collaborate with what is outside of one’s country or region, to be informed, to be published, to communicate and have access to job offers. It’s how I dream of achieving better social growth, thanks to the connection to the internet.

Before coming to the Maman Shujaa Center, I had so many questions about using a computer and internet access, but as soon as I arrived, thanks to quality instruction given by the center, I started to master the use of a computer all the way to going online. I also saw how the center’s leaders maintain communications with the outside world through the internet, which I would also like to do. At this exact time, I can’t say I’ve succeeded in establishing significant relationships online, but I am already capable of doing it because I’m already doing so with the members of the Maman Shujaa Center.

Now I’d say that I’ve already intensified my work and activism because I already have some knowledge thanks to the exercises that I’ve been doing with members of the center.

I don’t yet have adequate relationships on the internet because of many obstacles, like a lack of a personal computer, financial means, and being very far from the cybercafé at the Center.

Merci

See you online !
