My Introduction

I am a person with unceasing passion for this so-called LIFE. The more I grow older, the more I appreciate what this life has made me BE, and still becoming to be.

I have been blessed with two daughters -loving, healthy and talented 19 and 9 years old, respectively. I teach Psychology and Research Method/Writing in a university. I am pursuing my doctorate to make me competent and skillful in my chosen field of work
I have been personally engaged in the cause of women, and spoken up on behalf of women who were subjected to partner violence through my own personal study and work involvement.

Being a mother of 2 daughters, and myself a survivor of domestic abuse, my commitment in both my professional, personal and community role is to do my part in making a difference in advancing the cause of women as a feminist scholar and academician. There is so much to be done, and reasons for us to remain committed to this pursuit.

By the way, I was a musician before I engaged in social issues and social science. I still do that on the side and it has been my expression of the other self parts I have - feelings, value for beauty, arts and the finer things. It is my spiritual connection and nurturance. Also,.anything closely connected to to nature is what feels home to me.

Hello and Welocme

Hi Pola-

It is people like you who are determined to show our younger generation a positive female experience, showing such courage after suffering abuse, that will change attitudes and actions towards women. I am sorry you have suffered. I am grateful you are using your life to enrich others, especially your daughters. If you ever felt so inclined, and only if you are comfortable and safe with it, we would love to hear more of your story and how you have come through it.

So glad that you have joined this thriving community at WP! Thank you for this first journal entry, as it gives us a peek into your life and who you are. It also gives others a chance to connect and respond, starting good conversation. I know you will find others here who have shared experiences and will inspire you as you inspire them.

Please explore the WP site to see all the exciting things going on and ways to take action. I have found the quickest way to enter into this community is to click on the "Voices Rising" link, which is under the "Community" tab near the top of the screen. From there you can easily access and read journal entries, and perhaps make a comment in reply. In order to add people to your community, click on the person's name. You will be taken to their profile, and can click on the 'add to my community' link under their photo.

Please let us know if you have a need, idea, or just want to make a connection. We look forward to seeing more of you here!

Let us Hope together-
