Sisters

img_0143.JPG

Tomorrow morning, I leave Africa after two and a half months. One of the highlights of my stay in Uganda was meeting some of my World Pulse sisters in Kampala and Jinja. I am so inspired by their passion, dedication, and resilience. When two or more of us gather in a room, the energy and ideas flow. I encourage all of you who have the opportunity to travel to connect with your sisters. You can even connect with World Pulse members in your own city. At our meeting in Uganda, the members confessed to having never met each other in person before. Now, they are determined to meet regularly and use their network to create positive change in Uganda.

I know there are many World Pulse members in my home city of Portland, OR. Who's up for a WP PDX gathering?

Safe Travels

Hi Julie,

I so know the sense of loss upon ending travels and yet the comfort of coming home. Would love to reconnect and hear about your trip. Safe travels across the many miles. The flights seem long, but the world is truly a small place with the connections made.

I know Scott has been wanting to do a PDX gathering! We should talk!

The Pearl of Africa "Uganda"

Hello! Julie,

I am very sorry for not meeting you when your here but the good thing we used to talk by phone that was also a sign of good relationship may be next time we shall have a chance to meet and you meet AFSU women too.

I am proud of you.
Thank you very much to make Uganda your second home.

Julie-
I whole-heatedly agree with this suggestion. We have all made amazing connections with sisters from around the globe. And although Skype, messaging and other great technologies help these connections grow stronger, there is a power to meeting face to face. I hope to do the same here, and would travel again to PDX in a heartbeat!

May your transition be smooth, and your heart be full of the love you carry from your new-found sisters in Uganda. Thank you for all you do!

Peace and Hope-
Michelle

Midwife

Hi Tishell,

I don't know much about training to be a midwife, but if that is your dream, go for it! Maybe you could start by connecting with other World Pulse members in Jamaica. They may be able to suggest training programs.
