Introducing myself and my journal: Niki's Musings...

About Me:
Hello everyone!
My name is Niki and I'm so excited to start discussing global issues with you all on this forum :)
I'm particularly interested in how I can do my part to eliminate extreme poverty and have founded a charity called Education Without Borders (UNSW) at my University to achieve this goal.
I believe empowering women so they can escape from the poverty cycle is vital in our common goal of ending extreme poverty and I'm currently reading up on this on www.thegirleffect.org
I'm really looking forward to engaging in discussion and brainstorming ideas with all of you soon!
-Niki

Nikki!
Greetings from Portland, Oregon and a big welcome from the vibrant, online PulseWire community. It is so exciting to have members like you join to share your knowledge, passion, and interests. Your particular passion for eradicating world poverty will be of interest to many members. I think you would enjoy joining a few groups to discuss what you are learning. Take a moment to post a picture of yourself, or a symbol that has meaning to you. We would love to see your beautiful face or a symbol of something important to you.

I would also like to direct you to PulseWire˙s exciting new program, Voices of Our Future! Voices of Our Future is our new, global womens' correspondent program and network. Up to 30 applicants will learn to use new media to speak for ourselves to the world, transform our communities, and change our lives. And finally, take some time to browse through ResourceExchange, a global bulletin board designed to offer access to needed resources as well as the ability to provide resources to those in need; or explore and contribute to Sharing Solutions, our library of working models and blueprints.

Welcome again to our global community and I look forward to hearing more from you here on PulseWire!

Best wishes,
Laura
