Need a laugh (and cringe) this Monday afternoon?

Hello ladies!

If your Monday afternoon is going slow, check out this post called "10 Retro Ads That Made Women Look Like Complete Idiots."

You will probably giggle and cringe a bit, but I think it's fascinating to look back on these images from only 50 years ago, and to think about how far we've come (as well as how much farther we have to go!).

Which do you think is the most cringe-worthy of the images? In 50 years, are we going to look back on advertisements from this decade and cringe just as much?

Feel free to post whatever is keeping your Monday going, or anything else you'd like to share with this group! All you have to do is click the "Contribute" tab above the group, which will allow you to post to this group's journal.

My favorite one, so to speak, is the one about the woman who is equipped to clean the moon in the future with Lestoil and a cosmonaut suit! Hahaha, I ma still laughing.
I sincerely believe that in 50 years women will be outraged at how much we sexualize women in adds today. It already makes me sick!
Thanks for sharing Leana.

I loved that one too!

I bet the people at Lestoil are women cleaning the moon quite yet! I hope you're right about women being outraged in 50 years about how they are portrayed now, because that will mean that society in general is more conscious of how it treats its women. I know there are people outraged even now, but definitely not enough!

Cringe, ugh, really?! ...

The first couple I didn't even understand. And the last few all about cleaning, clean breathe and be there for your man... ugh.

Housewife Headache... more like woman who does everything headache....
