1. DEFINITION DES CONCEPTS CLES
-Divorce : c’est le jugement qui met fin à un mariage civil ;
-Divorcé : dont le divorce a été prononcé ;
-Divorcer : rompre un mariage par divorce ; se séparer de son conjoint par le divorce ;

We want to share this debate in order to learn what were the reasons and consequences of this “divorce rate, which became very high, especially in Bukavu”.

1. Definition of the key concepts
- Divorce: it is a judgment to put an end to civil marriage.
- Divorced: the one whose divorce is finalized
- To divorce: To end a marriage by divorce, to separate oneself from his/her spouse by divorce
Marriage: it is a consensual legal, public, and solemn contract signed in front of a civil servant, who established a union between the man and the women which cannot be broken against their will.

2. Causes of Divorce in Bukavu:
Today, we still have a new phenomenon to contract a marriage between a girl and a boy, which we call: “marriage by commission”
3. Evolution of that Marriage
1st Case: There are old men who have set up their organizations in the village;
They hire girls for one position and this girl becomes their secretary. However, in the long run the girl also becomes their secretary at night, they live like a husband and a wife with her boss. One or two years later, the boss looks for a boy who will work for him, and because there are no jobs at the Congo, the boy will accept to work for him, accepting any conditions he might have.
The boss gives as his first condition to the boy, to marry his secretary, and all the marriage expenses will be covered by the boss. The Poor guy thinks that his boss loves him since he is giving him all these benefits.
ASSESMENT:
After three months or four months, the boss fires the boy, and he hires more workers to continue the job. The boy does not have a job anymore to live, the girl does not work, life becomes difficult for them and there is a loss of balance in this new household, the young couple decides to get divorced. The young girl goes back to live with her parents, and the boy searches for a place to go, because the house was rented and he has no place to go.
2nd case: A father or a mom who has a friend with whom they discuss the possibility of getting their son and daughter married. They talk about the dowry without even asking the opinion of the girl or the boy. These parents look for a house for the new couple, and they buy all that the new couple could need in their new home; each parent informs their kid at the last minute, and the children do not have the time to discuss things with their parents or give their opinion.
ASSESMENT:
A year or two later, there are problems in the household, one tells the other that it was his/her parents that did everything for them to be how we are today; the other one replies by saying : “ you weren’t my choice” and the couple announces that they are getting divorced without wanting it because we know well that everybody is free to marry the person of their choice and start a family.
To finish things with, we note that according to the city statistics, every month there are 31 official marriages issued by a state official, and 41 cases of divorce every month. We know that a marriage is a signed contract between two parties, man and woman, who live together until death do them apart. Unfortunately, marriages have become a business for people; the who marries on Saturday, gets divorced on Wednesday, which we call “precocious divorce”.

One of the problems is that divorced young women need to remarry while there are still a huge number of young girls who are not married yet, and also need to get married. Within which category will a boy who wants to get married choose? This question justifies the elevated rates of girls when compared to the rates of boys due to these precocious divorces. We open a door for other researchers who will provide assistance on about this issue deemed a “plague” . For our readers, your remarks and suggestions are also necessary. THANK YOU.
