Can we find a meaning to our life?

“The duration of our life, seventy years, eighty for the stronger ones, a long life only brings fatigue and suffering.” These words are very realistic! Life in this world is often only “fatigue and suffering”. Maybe you have already asked yourself: “ Is it possible today to find a meaning to my life?” Consider the example of Marie: she had always been very active, but today, at the age of 84, she is practically stuck at home. Mentally she is still active but her body no longer follows. Can she have the feeling that such a life has meaning? And you? Do you find yourself wondering if your life has meaning? Our work seems repetitive, tiring, or boring when thinking that no one notices our efforts. And if things go rather well for us, we are still worried about our future. We sometimes feel depressed or alone, our family argues often…
The life of a man who lived on earth two thousand years ago enables us to know the answer to this question. This man is Jesus Christ. Despite all the obstacles that he had to overcome, his life was rich in meaning. If we follow his example, we will also have a life full of meaning. There is clear evidence that Jesus had a life full of meaning. He came from a modest background and he didn’t even know “where he was going”. Additionally, he was hated. His enemies falsely accused him and ultimately executed him. It is necessary to be interested in other aspects of Jesus’s life. Let’s look at four: 1. JESUS HAD A GOAL IN LIFE: TO DO THE WILL OF GOD “My nourishment, its to do the will of he who sent me” (John 4:34) 2. JESUS HAD AN INTENSE LOVE FOR HIS FATHER: “ I love the father” (John 14:31) 3. JESUS KNEW HE WAS LOVED AND ACCEPTED BY HIS FATHER: “This one here is my son, the one well loved that I accepted.” (Matthew 3:17). Regardless of the suffering that we must put up with, we absolutely need to know the answer to this question: Can we find a meaning to our life?

Grace
