Dear correspondents and mentors,

I wanted to start the first official day of VOF by sending you one of my favorite quotes. It's written by a woman I lived with during a summer internship at a newspaper in Jackson, Miss. five years ago. Sending lots of wonderful thoughts and good energy to you all today.

"When you’re starting out on the road barefootin’, you don’t know where you’re going. But you’ve got to step out, or you’ll never get anywhere. And you keep on going, one step at a time.

You have to have faith to go barefooted—you don’t know what you might step on, what pain might come—but you keep on walking. And it makes you tough. Sometimes you skip and jump and run. Sometimes you get a thorn in your toe or trip over a limb, but there’s no turning back.

Barefootin’ means getting mud between your toes and dancing on the water! Your spirit is in your feet, and your spirit can run free."

- Unita Blackwell with JoAnne Prichard Morris

And this message was a great reminder. Thank you Lisa!

I especially like, "Your spirit is in your feet, and your spirit can run free." We are FREE - not only our feet - but also our souls... voices and selves. What a lucky girl I am to have my feet bring me to World Pulse and all these other amazing souls.

Big hugs and high fives, Lisa!
Molly :)

Very True and Motivating

I like your post Lisa. Baring those lines in mind, even the weakest of all humans make it will to the mark. Thank you so much for sharing.

That's a very lovely motivating message Lisa.

In reality we are all barefootin' - sometimes we step on sharp jutting stones, and sometimes they cut, sometimes they only scratch the surface. But we never turn back. We maybe stuck in the spot for a while though .
What's important is to have someone cheer us to hasten our steps so that we reach our destination sooner. The cheering can come from within most of the time. But that needs replenishing from time to time.

And I believe WorldPulse is one great place to get our souls replenished.
