FAISONS FACE FEEMMES…….

Women and girls without jobs

What to say about all of these girls and women who scour the town of Bukavu searching for jobs that would permit them to earn an income and meet their needs?

In reality, many girls and women do not have the luck of easily accessing work, and yet work is the source of independence, of development, and of autonomy within a society. The cause of all of this is that women are deprived of their rights. They don’t go to school very often at the level of a state diploma, even if they are able and they want to study, all because of customs. Parents say that girls must marry quickly and have children and that studies are just for men. Yet, girls can do more than them. This plague is the source of numerous other problems, including delinquency, prostitution, early marriage, arranged marriage…

I pray to all people of good will, to all people who wish and work for the promotion of women’s rights, to create jobs solely for girls and women and to support their creative projects, for the sake of a better future for them and our families.

Women, let's rise and work for the promotion of our rights. Let us forget distractions and go forward. Let us face the challenge, women...
